BARCELONA – Xiaomi has taken a dramatic leap from the smartphone screen to the big screen the racing simulator screen. At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, the Chinese tech giant officially unveiled the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Vision GT) , a stunning electric concept supercar that blurs the lines between the virtual and physical worlds .

Unveiled during the “One more thing” segment of Xiaomi’s global launch event on February 28, the Vision GT is not just another concept car; it is a statement of intent . The vehicle is the result of a collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the creators of the legendary Gran Turismo racing game series for PlayStation. This partnership makes Xiaomi the first Chinese brand invited to design a vehicle for the prestigious Vision Gran Turismo program, joining an exclusive club that includes automotive legends like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Mercedes-Benz .

Design Without Boundaries

The Vision GT program is unique because it allows automakers to design a “dream car” free from the constraints of road legality, mass production costs, or practical engineering limitations. Xiaomi’s design team, led by Chief Designer Li Tianyuan, took full advantage of this freedom.

The result is a machine of extreme proportions. The concept features a radical low-slung, wide-body silhouette with a mid-engined, central-cockpit layout . The aggressive front end features sharp, T-shaped headlights and complex aerodynamic ducts, while the most distinctive feature is the massive, illuminated “XIAOMI” badge set within a huge circular ring light at the rear—a dramatic evolution of the family design language seen on the SU7 .

Adding to the theater are scissor doors and massive carbon-ceramic brakes hidden behind aerodynamically optimized center-lock wheels .

Aerodynamic Efficiency as Art

Xiaomi’s engineers focused intensely on airflow. The company claims the Vision GT achieves a balance of extremely low drag (Cd 0.29) and high downforce without relying on large, add-on wings . Li Tianyuan emphasized the design philosophy: “Our philosophy is to achieve aerodynamic targets without relying on additional components… almost every line must have an aerodynamic function, not just for aesthetics” . The body itself is sculpted to guide air smoothly from the front, over the body, and out through an enormous rear diffuser.

A Futuristic, Driver-Focused Cockpit

Inside, the cabin is a blend of raw racing focus and Xiaomi’s signature “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem. The driver sits in a “cocoon-shaped sofa” with a four-point harness, gripping a yoke-style steering wheel that resembles a game controller . A panoramic “Skyline” display provides information, but critically, Xiaomi has retained physical toggle switches and a aircraft-style joystick shifter to ensure the driver feels in complete control . In true Xiaomi fashion, the system can integrate with smartwatches to display the driver’s health data directly in the car .

More Than Just a Game Car

While this stunning machine will eventually be drivable by players in Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, its appearance at MWC carries a heavier significance . It serves as a powerful marketing tool and a “calling card” for Xiaomi’s upcoming entry into the European market, slated for 2027 .

The concept rides on Xiaomi’s in-house developed 900V silicon carbide (SiC) platform, hinting at the immense performance potential of the brand’s EV technology . This reveal comes on the heels of massive success for Xiaomi’s EV division, which delivered over 410,000 vehicles in 2025. The SU7 sedan has already outsold the Tesla Model 3 in China, and the track-focused SU7 Ultra holds the Nürburgring lap record for a production EV .
